Fishing Reports
The fish in our area have settled into their summer patterns. On the inshore side of things, our favorite species the sheepshead has become a very consistent catch in many of the locations we fish. Trophy speckled trout can be found on the grass flats this time of year, but aside from a specialty trip targeting those, we will likely hold off on targeting trout until September when the shrimp arrive in full force. Redfish are a hard fighting, great eating staple in our area year-round, they often mix in with the sheepshead we target! If there is a flounder season this year, it hasn't been announced yet, but rest assured there are plenty of them swimming around most anywhere that the water is wet.

Spanish mackerel and bluefish will be hanging around by our beaches from now well into the fall chasing small baitfish such as glass minnows, with false albacore joining them as the water cools.

The main attraction on the offshore side of things for us at the moment are the Dolphin (mahi) that wander in closer to shore this time of year. It gives you the chance to fish away from crowds and have a much shorter boat ride while still having the opportunity to catch exciting pelagic fish.
